Tax Consultant

The role -

The successful candidate will report to the partners and to the manager of the firm's Taxation Advisory Services.

The key responsibilities will include:

• Working with the partners and the manager of the firm's Taxation Advisory Services to plan, evolve and maintain the tax services of the firm thereby increasing the client base and fee income;
• Providing and driving the tax input on planning and advisory assignments and corporate finance transactions;
• Leading the firm's UK tax compliance function;
• Forging close working relationships with existing tax colleagues in order to develop the firm's tax team.

The person -

Harts LLP is seeking a person of the highest ability to fulfill this role. The successful candidate will be ATII (or CTA) qualified. An accounting qualification whilst not required would be an advantage.

In particular the candidate must:

• Possess a thorough understanding of all areas of UK direct tax and its implications for individuals, companies and unincorporated businesses;
• Demonstrate strong experience in tax planning and compliance processes for individuals, partnerships and companies;
• Have excellent report writing abilities;
• Possess a sound understanding of accounting and the interpretation of statutory financial accounts and disclosures;
• Be a clear, concise and logical thinker and a natural communicator;
• Be able to prioritise and work to deadlines with the ability to drive projects through to completion; and
• Be energetic and personable and be able to win the respect of clients and colleagues.
